Objective
In early May 2018 we started working with Nettr, creating a streaming technology – one cross-platform SDK. Our client has chosen Rockers for developing a huge project for video streaming. End-to-end, from ingest to delivery and playback, system that will work on any platform — PC, Mobile and Embedded. They knew that the legacy streaming technologies and their affiliates becoming more complicated every day and if a start-up is launching a streaming-related business, they are facing many challenges and complications in many layers. That is the reason why we’ve created Nettr, which removes all the current technologies’ complexities and challenges.
Challenge
Rockers team had to create a platform that would resolve all the issues that all the existing services have:
➵ Additional royalties for multiple times encoding or transcoding.
➵ Vendors need to partner up with several companies for protocol, player framework, DRM, and other requirements.
➵ For customer satisfaction, the vendors have to work with various streaming protocols to make sure the service providers can deliver their content to every device.
➵ For an immersive streaming experience, the vendors have to use the HTML5 or platform API-based native player. Both HTML5 and platform API player frameworks are very limited regarding audio and video playback. Hence, the end users are not getting an immersive experience.
➵ For security, the vendors have to sign up with multiple DRM providers to secure the content with various limitations.
Solution
For such a big challenging project we created a team of 12 developers: PM, Solution Architect, Business Analytic, Scrum Master, QA, C++ tech leads, .NET tech lead, C++ and .NET senior engineers.
We’ve decided to have daily meetings for a clear understanding of the tasks and changes, daily and monthly reports for showing the progress and status check, and sync with the Client 3 times per week.
Nettr is the solution from scratch therefore we needed to create a clear roadmap, establish the multi-dimensional team and select the proper technology set from the very beginning.
Rockers had built a very strong and trustful relationship with the Client. We’d shown how dedicated is the whole team to the project.

We continue to enhance the project’s support and introduce new features. Nettr has achieved zero buffering on 4G and standard home Wi-Fi connections. With the advent of 5G, offering over 1 Gbps bandwidth, we will be equipped to deliver UHD-2 / UHD-3 in HDR, along with cutting-edge theatrical audio technologies, and UHD-1 / HD Audio real-time streaming without any latency.
